It’s a Goat’s Life

It’s been another miserable day today, but, for a little while this evening, a watery sunshine broke through, so the goats came to outside the conservatory where they could take full advantage of it and hung round, chewing.  They have an amazing ability to turn any lovely, unspoiled patch of countryside into a street corner.  Then the Goat! dozed off on the window-sill:

But then, to the Little Goat’s delight, the lambs came back (they’ve been at the other end of the farm while they were weaned).   So she was able to indulge in her favourite pastime of Lamb-Baiting.  She lures them up to the fence, putting on a nonchalant air but with enough je ne sais quoi to make the lambs curious:

(Bad photo – but hey! Sunshine!)

Then she pounces and they scatter:

When they were still with their mums, the mums of course would come to try & sort out the goat by stamping at her.  But she just stood there, chewing at them.  And nothing can out-stare a goat.

The Goat! meanwhile is way up in the Order of Things and never feels the need to get involved.
