Merry Christmas

leave a comment

Not your standard christmas cake, but this year was a competition between my spiced apple cake and my mother’s chocolate cake.

Shown on a chopping board designed and burnt by my 8year old niece.

Planning Permission

leave a comment

We have now received planning permission for the next stage of our building works – the extension of the house into the barn. Plans can be seen on the eden local government portal.
There are a few conditions – bat survey, a level 3 English Heritage architectural survey, and we have to submit the colours of doors and windows for approval.

Frosty Morning

leave a comment

It was very frosty this morning. Everything painted with a layer of icing sugar. Got one picture of the outside of the conservatory.

An atmospheric sunrise, who’d want to be a sheep on a morning like this?

Oak Floor

leave a comment

The oak floor has been laid.
We were going to lay flags but after it got this far we decided that a wooden floor would work much better.
